Thank you all for your interest in our KYSL Fall League. As you know, earlier in the year phases of play were progressing faster than we thought. Then Arizona took a negative turn and phases of play regressed and have slowed down dramatically. Based on the status of Arizona and Covid 19, we are only in phase 1. We need to be in phase 3 to even scrimmage and then phase 4 to actually play. The city also mandated masks again through August. We are not sure where the phases will be by the middle of August, which is when we close registration and start creating teams. With our current registration numbers and the return to play phase status, the board has decided to offer an alternative to our regular 8 to 10 week program. We are transitioning league play to a 6 week clinic that will start in mid September. Clinics will be held on Saturdays only in two hour increments per age division. These clinics will follow strict ASA guidelines according to the current return to play phases released by the state. The hope is to move from training, to scrimmages, then to game play by the end of the program. I know this is not ideal, but the best work around that we can put in place with the uncertainties. Our goal is to get the kids out of the house, back on the fields, and interacting in some capacity in the sport that they love.
Registration spots are limited due to guidelines of players allowed on the field at a time. If you have already paid for a spot and would like to continue with our upcoming clinic, your spot is reserved. However, if you don’t feel this new format will work for you this season, please reach out to me so I can refund your registration and free up a spot for another interested player.
